both irregular and regular have 5 sides and 5 corners. also, both have the same TOTAL/SUM of the interior and exterior angles.

regular pentagon has sides of equal lengths, while irregular pentagon has sides of not equal or varying lengths.

A regular pentagon must have not only equal sides, but also equal angles.
(you could have a pentagon with equal sides, but with different angles. Think of the pentagon being "squished". Such a pentagon would be irregular.)
