What are the charges of the ions in an ionic compound containing iron(III) and fluoride ions?
a)iron(III)- i got 3+
b) flouride- im not sure on this one
c)Write the formula for the compound. (Type your answer using the format CO2 for CO2.)
- Fe3F2... i rly have no idea on this one

nevermind i got it. thanks
iron(III) is +3
F is -1
FeF3 is iron(III) fluoride
How do you know the formula. If Fe is +3 and F is -1, it takes 3 F ions to make -3 and all compounds are zero. Fe is +3 and 3F are -3 and +3 + (-3) = 0 charge on the compound.
F is -1
FeF3 is iron(III) fluoride
