Graphing gives the solution rapidly and also gives the better insight into the problem. One drawback is that most of the time, the accuracy is lacking. It can be as accurate as the precision of the graphs. For example, if two lines are parallel, we conclude that there is no solution, and we immediately see why.
Substitution and elimination require more laborious work, and often take time. There is also more chances of making erroneous calculations. On the other hand, if the correct solution is obtained, it is more accurate.
What are some pros and cons of using each of the following methods when solving equations?

-using substitution or elimination

Thank you, I did not know that graphing may reduce the accuracy of the answer. This is very helpful.
Graphing does not reduce the accuracy of the answer, but it has limited accuracy (if we draw on paper). If you are referring to graphing using a graphing calculator, I suppose most software would permit the image to be zoomed, in which case there is less of a problem.
Okay, I am sorry, I was misunderstood. I now understand what you are saying. Luckily the graphs I use are on the computer and I am able to to zoom in for accuracy. I never knew about graphing calculators!
