'We are currently in an energy crisis. After food, fossil fuels are humanity's most important source of energy. These resources take millions of years to make. We are currently using the fuels that were made more than 300 million years ago, before the time of dinosaurs. Fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource; once they are gone, they are gone. Compose a research paper that investigates and reports on the biological and environmental aspects of this energy crisis.'

The majority of people would agree that fossils have been one of the most important parts of our society. They are used to fuel many of our transportation vehicles, allowing us easy traveling which could increase trade and the spread of ideas. They are used to heat our homes and, as a matter of a fact, fossil fuels are also used in many common products that we all use in our daily lives, like toothpaste. Fossil fuels are the most important source of energy to humans. At this point in time, we are using fuels that were around for around 300 years. As fossils are a nonrenewable resource, it is possible that we may run out of fossil fuel one day and the only way for us to be able to continue living the life that we’re currently living is to find alternative sources for fossil fuels.

The fuels that we currently have are affecting our environment in many ways. Fossil fuels release harmful greenhouse gases that are increasing global warming. Many chemicals are also being released into the atmosphere through many routes. The fuels also harm animals nearby. Not only that, but it can also impact our crops. Our major forms of fossil fuels are coal, oil, and natural gas. Coal is a solid which is formed by years after years of land vegetation and decay. Deposits turn to coal after getting heated and compacted. Oil is a liquid that forms on the seafloor when remains of marine microorganisms are deposited. Natural gas is a gaseous fossil fuel that is considered to be the cleanest and healthiest option of fossils fuels out of the two others. Natural gas is formed similarly to oil, from the remains of marine microorganisms. Not only do these fossil fuels affect us in many ways, but their formation takes time and that time may be running out.
I'd love some help with the other two reasons that we need alternative fuel sources! Thank you!

research paper? You have pretty much written an opinion paper, and generalize greatly Have you done any research? especially in the area of biological and environmental issues?

By the way, I disagree with the teachers research prompt on what is the "most important". Sunlight is the humanities' most important energy source, by far. Remember the ICE ages?

So, I suggest you find the other two reasons with research, and clean up your points, because, they are not based on research finding the effects on biology and enviroment.
Yes, but see, I was trying to write an essay debating about how we need to find alternative fuel sources
Your directions: " ... Compose a research paper that investigates and reports on the biological and environmental aspects of this energy crisis."

Research papers and essays are two different things. If you're "trying to write an essay debating..." when your assignment is to write a research paper, you're not following directions. Students in my classes who didn't follow directions earned zeroes on their papers.
