Water boils 100© C and turns into steam. How are water steam similar(think particles) How are water and steam different(think temperature)

1 answer

Water and steam are similar in that they are both composed of H2O molecules. In both water and steam, the molecules are constantly in motion, bouncing off each other and the container they are in.

However, water and steam are different in terms of temperature. Water exists as a liquid at temperatures below 100°C, while steam exists as a gas at temperatures above 100°C. This difference in temperature causes the molecules in steam to have more kinetic energy and move more quickly than the molecules in water.
