  • She was a very important writer and poet. She loved to tell stories about her life.

2. What was her life like?

  • Maya had a hard childhood. She experienced many challenges, like racism and losing her voice for five years. But she was strong and smart!

3. How did she persevere?

  • Even when things were tough, Maya kept writing and using her voice. She became famous for her books, including "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings."

4. What lessons did I learn from her?

  • It's important to be brave and never give up. Your voice matters, and you can inspire others with your words.

5. What coping strategies do I use?

  • Talking to friends: When I feel sad or confused, I share my feelings with my friends.
  • Drawing and coloring: I like to express myself through art when I'm upset.
  • Reading books: I escape into different stories which help me relax and feel better.
