so, did you use your calculator?
It has a "COS" button, and probably a "INV" or "Fn" button.
0.76 INV COS will give you what you need.

okay but how do I calculate it with the COS button

you cannot use just the COS button.
Read your calculator guide. You want the inverse cosine, which requires another button.
since cos 40.54° = 0.76
pressing 0.76 INV COS should display 40.5358...
