Journal Entry: The Life of a Samurai
As a samurai, I am honored to wield my sword and uphold the code of Bushido, which demands respect and loyalty. The privileges we enjoy are significant; we are granted lands and food by our lords, ensuring that we and our families are provided for. However, this noble stature comes with its own burdens. We are barred from engaging in trade, a limitation that constrains our ability to amass personal wealth and partake in the pleasures of the marketplace. Furthermore, the constant threat of war looms over us, and the reality of death in battle is a heavy price for our duty to our clan and country. Balancing the honor and privilege of being a samurai with the inherent risks is a complex struggle, yet I remain steadfast in my commitment to my role.
