Use the equation y=2x+2 for this problem.

a. Create an input/output table.

b. Graph the ordered pairs from the
table.

c. Describe each of the variables as the independent or the dependent variable

2 answers

a. pick some values for x, and then calculate y.

b. pick two of the (x,y) pairs and plot them on graph paper. Draw a line through the two points. All of the other points in your table will also lie on this line. If they do not, you have made a mistake.

c. x is independent. You can pick any value you want. Once chosen, the value of y depends on x, according to the equation.
But if choose any value of y ,we can get some value of x also for every y .Then ,why x is not an independent variable ?
