I think my answer is...

45.....How I got this answer was 5 x 2 + 5 x 7=45

10 + 35 = 45

Can you please double check my work?

You can't just drop the variable.

5(2x + 7) = 10x + 35

Now you can see that we can't add the 10 and 35
since they are "unlike" terms
