In today's lesson,
Before you write, be sure to review the assessment guidelines.
Refer to the strategies on pp. 369–374 in The Essential Guide to Language, Writing, & Literature as you work through the stages of the writing process. Take note of the specific tips for drafting the introduction, body, and conclusion on pp. 375-376, and be sure to look over the model on pp. 367-368.
Working from the prewriting you completed during the previous lessons, write an argumentative essay of 3 pages in which you answer the question: Have technological innovations gone too far?
Once you have completed the first draft of the argumentative essay, use your draft to complete this MODIFIED draft questionnaire.
Create a document with a left heading and a right header in Times New Roman 12-point font; double-spaced.
The title for this document is Unit 3 Lesson 4 Modification.
Write your working Claim (Thesis statement) for this essay.
Write the working topic Sentences for each of your body paragraphs that supports your position on this topic.
Write the working topic sentence for the counterargument paragraph.
Write a Works Cited entry for one of the sources that you used in your rough draft.
You will submit your document to the drop box at the end of this lesson on page 6 of 6.
Use your feedback you receive in your gradebook to make revisions to your draft as you continue the lessons in this unit.
