Uncertainty of what I wanted to be or do, pressures of choosing something I enjoy vs having a career that pays well and finance for education (worked throughout HS and university)

I overcame these challenges with the understanding that my life and career is not linear, there are always obstacles and challenges throughout the journey and that the key is learning from mistakes and being agile enough to make adjustments, albeit carefully planned. I always say, “you have to be comfortable feeling uncomfortable” as this facilitates your mindset to growth. Opportunities are everywhere, you just have to network, grow, educate and sometimes be lucky by being at the right place at the right time.
Education: living independently while going to college
Career: Fluctuating economy, COVID-19, and Fluctuation in domains in the housing industry due to economic factors
Life: health, relationships, aging, having a daughter move to another continent, having expensive children (me), and grief/loss of loved ones

Patience, perseverance, having an optimistic disposition toward life, having a healthy lifestyle, having faith in a positive outcome

He has learned to become good at pivoting, relying on connections he has made in the industry, having the ability to network within the industry, and always having a plan b.

Education: balancing part-time studies with full-time work, relationships, and family.
Career: Job availability, changing grades, changing schools, balancing being a mom and a full-time teacher, finding a school and a community that she felt comfortable in, supporting the union in advocating for caps on class sizes, fair benefits, funding, and salary.
Life: changing relationships, loss/grief, health concerns, and aging.

Being goal-oriented, working on resilience, knowing when to ask for help, using her resources, making sure that she had a network of friends and family close by, and knowing how to advocate for herself.

Learning how to teach different grades and lots of leadership opportunities, she got to teach overseas and travel, networking with people, knowing her limits, learning to balance being a mom with everything else, learning how to set boundaries, and finding the joy in having a blended family.
