Two resistors Ra= 1.95 ohms and Rb = 0.05 ohms are connected in parallel and take a total of 50A. What is the current trough each resistor.

3 answers

r = R1 R2 / (R1+R2) = 1.95*.05 /2 = .04875

In other words if connected in parallel, the .05 resistor carries practically all the current.
V = 50 *.04875 = 2.4375 volts

i through .05 = 2.4375/.05 = 48.75 amps
i through 1.95 = 2.4375/1.95 = 1.25 amps
