Metals that are less reactive than hydrogen will not liberate hydrogen from dilute tetraoxosulphate (VI) solution.
Examples of such metals include:
1. Copper (Cu)
2. Silver (Ag)
3. Gold (Au)
4. Platinum (Pt)
5. Mercury (Hg)
6. Lead (Pb)
7. Nickel (Ni)
8. Zinc (Zn) at high pH
These metals are less reactive than hydrogen and therefore cannot displace hydrogen from the tetraoxosulphate (VI) ion.
Two metals that will not liberate hydrogen form dilute tetraoxosulphate (vi)
