Two equal sides of a triangle are 1 metre more than half the third side. If the perimetre of the triangle is 22 meters find the lenth of its side.

Let the base be x
each of the other sides = (1/2)x + 1

x + 2((1/2)x + 1) = 22
x + x + 2 = 22
x = 10

so the sides are 6 , 6, and 10
