1 - 2 does not equal 2 - 1
This is an example of subtraction not being commutative.

(10-9)-8 does not equal 10 -(9-8).
This is an example of subtraction not being associative. It is a property of operations that involve three numbers.
-(22, 5, -12 ) = ( -22, -5, 12 ) NOT COMMUTATIVE

6 - (3 - 2) and (6 - 3) - 2
NOT EQUAL SO NOT ASSOCIATIVE
