Trying to help my daughter with her homework and im not sure how to do quadratic equations... Her question is

X2(squared)+6=0
Im so lost!

1 answer

You want x^2+6 = 0

Good luck. x^2 is always positive, so there is no way you can add 6 and make the sum be zero.

Now, if you allow for complex numbers, then

x^2 = -6
x = ±√-6 = ±√6 i

where i = √-1
