we are comparing f(x) = sinx and g(x) = sin(x/9)= sin( (1/9)x)
period of f(x) is 2π
period of g(x) = 2π/(1/9) = 18π = appr 56.5,
so you are looking at a stretch by a factor of 9 as you stated
look at their graphs:
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y+%3D+sinx,+y+%3D+sin(x%2F9)
notice there is no change in the amplitude nor is there a vertical displacement.
I don't know what you mean by "flip it over".
transformations in this function
y= sin (X/9)
it is 1/9 but that is not the transformation right?
Is it a horizontal stretch of 9 because you flip it over, since it is horizontal ?
