Tracy and her mom shopped at thrift stores together on Sunday mornings. Today, they were looking for a rug for their front doorway. As they walked into Sally’s Five and Dime, Tracy got distracted right away by the “$5” box on the front counter. Looking inside, she saw a broken vase and some candlesticks that didn’t match, but underneath was a shiny cell phone. Tracy’s face lit up as she thought, Maybe Mom will finally let me have one, since it’s so cheap.

Meanwhile, her mom found an attractive rug, and as she took it to the checkout counter, she could see her daughter holding a cell phone. Well, if it’s not too expensive, I suppose I could let her have one, she thought.

On the way home, Tracy sat with her new phone on her lap. “As soon we get it all set up with the phone company,” she told her mom, “I’m going to call Sasha and tell her I finally have a cell phone.”

Tracy nearly jumped when the phone began to ring! Instinctively, she picked it up and said, “Hello?”

“Tracy, it’s me, Sasha!” the voice said.

Tracy turned ghostly pale when she heard the familiar voice. “How did you get my number?” she asked her friend, but she didn’t wait for an answer. Instead, she dropped the phone on the floor like a hot potato.

“What’s wrong?” her mother asked. “Who was that on the phone?”

Tracy said in a shaky voice, “It was Sasha. This is one creepy phone. I don’t think I want a cell phone after all.”

If the story were told from Sasha's point of view, the reader would most likely learn:

D. How Sasha got Tracy's cell number.

This is because Sasha's perspective would provide insight into how she was able to call Tracy on the newly acquired cell phone, which is a significant aspect of the plot twist.
