-The number formed by reversing the order of the digits is 5 more than 3 times the sum of the digits.

What was his test score?

Answer is 83, but i'm not sure how it is worked out.

just write the words as math. If the tens digit is t and the units digit is u, then:

t = 2u+2
10u+t = 5+3(t+u)

solve for t and u
