Tina is trying to drop a water balloon from her balcony onto a rectangular raft in the pool below. The pool is 25 feet long and 15 feet wide. The raft is 6 feet long and 2 feet wide. What is the probability that Tina will hit the raft with the water balloon?

area of raft is 6*2 = 12
area of pool is 25*15 = 375

so, assuming the water balloon is much smaller than the raft, the probability of hitting the raft is 12/375

In actuality, probably much greater than that, since the thrower will presumably actually be aiming at the raft, and not just making a random toss. :-)
Thanks!
