this quote is a philosophical quote about existence, but that's all i know!! can someone please help me by giving it a meaning or by analyzing it?

Is it possible that Borges does not see himself as part of the world? Here is another quote from Borges:
"A man sets himself the task of portraying the world. Through the years he peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, instruments, stars, horses, and people. Shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his face.
So is it possible that Borges is trying to redefine 'reality' in a metaphysical way, one in which we are a summation of reality, and that which we see in the physical world is just a fuzzy reflection?

JLB did not write for the masses and it was not particularly important to him that one understand totally what he wrote. He was so widely read in many languages. He embarked in his own quest in search of self through time and space as he looked in mirrors, explored labyrinths and entered the world of fantastic beings. Although he lost his vision he could not be called "blind!"
