What is the structure of the magnesium salt that is created as a byproduct of the Grignard reaction:

bromobenzene + mg = phenylmagnesium bromide

phenylmagnesium bromide + benzophenone = triphenylmethanol

I believe you obtain MgBr2 or MgBr(OH)
