These are some more questions, they're not multiple answers they're S.A so the questions will be first and my answers will be on the bottom.
17. Describe the difference between thermal energy and temperature. Use the following words to help structure your answer: particles, kinetic (movement) energy, thermal energy, and measurement. (3 points)
18. Write an explanation to show the processes and particle arrangement of water as it changes state from a solid, to a liquid, and to a gas. (3 points)
19. Describe three ways to increase the rate salt dissolves in water. (3 points)
20. Describe a plan to separate a sand, salt, and iron filings mixture. Explain each step, the properties of the substances used in the separation, and the type of changes involved in the process. (5 points)
ANSWERS:
17. Thermal energy is caused by heat, temperature is heat and is caused by energy. Temperature is controlled by Thermal energy, particals in the air have an increased amount of kinetic energy which causes temperature to rise.
18. It starts in the air, in the air water is frozen and is ice, ice is the solid. Then the ice (solid), melts and turns into a liquid water. Then it rains, when it rains the sun come out and evaporates the water. That is when the water turns into a gas.
19. You can stir it, stirring it makes the salt dissolve faster since your moving it around. You can also heat it up more, heating equals faster to dissolve or melt. Or you can crush it, crushing it will make it smaller which makes it easier to dissolve.
20. First you use a magnet to remove all of the iron, the iron will get stuck to the magent allowing you to remove it. For the sand, you can put a whole bunc of water and wait for the salt to dissolve, then filter it. The salt will come back after the water evaporate's.
Thank you for all who helps out.
