Yes to me it does because you take the total number of people on the team and divide by 2
But you only have 72 boys. Each row has only boys or only girls. So 82 is impossible.
consider that 9 divides both 72 and 90
I am thinking about this a bit more now I don't feel that my answer was right. It can't be 86 if there are 72 boys and 90 girls. I am going to play around with the numbers a bit and then post a different answer.

I was wrong. The greatest number of students that can be in each row is 9 because there would be a total of 18 rows.
You can have 4 rows with 18 boys & 5 rows with 18 girls. It doesn't tell you it has to be exactly an amount of rows, but maximum of students in a row....
