The temperature is shown at 6:00am. It is rising at one degree every thirty minutes. At this rate, it will be 20 degrees at what time?

1 answer

rate = 1° / 30 min = 2° / 60 min = 2° / h

T = temperature

t = time

Temperature = rate ∙ time

T = rate ∙ t

20 ° = 2° / h ∙ t

t = 20 ° / ( 2° / h )

t = 20 ° ∙ h / 2°

t = 10 h

Reference time = 6:00 am

6:00 am + 10 h = 16 h = 4:00 pm
