The table shows how much a carpenter charges for work. Is the relationship shown by the data in the table linear. Explain your answer.
hours worked Amount Charged($)
1 25
2 40
3 60
4 80
It is linear because the lines would be in a straight line.

4 80
my answer is:
40-25 = 15
60-40= 20
80-60=20
15=/20
It is linear because the lines would be in a straight line.

ALL OF U ARE WRONG! the answer is that The relation ship shown by the data is not linear. It first increases by 15 and then by 20. therfore is not linear
Pretty sure 2020 is wrong because I graph the points and it’s a straight line
A linear equation has a constant rate of change. This means that the carpenter's cost per hour should remain the same. As much of the table is visible:
2 hours = $40
3 hours = $60
4 hours = $80
This means that the carpenter charges a constant $20 per hour and this is why it is a linear equation and will form a straight line.
2 hours = $40
3 hours = $60
4 hours = $80
This means that the carpenter charges a constant $20 per hour and this is why it is a linear equation and will form a straight line.
What about 1 hour worked for $25 that raises only by $15 when at 2 hours that’s no the same as the $20 increase
H u h
J makes a point. It isn’t linear because the rate of change isn’t constant. At first it goes up by $15, and then $20. Even though it goes up by $15 only for that hour, it still makes it not linear.
there right the line would go higher as 80 is above 50 making it not even
Not linear. First hour worked is $25, second hour worked $15, and all hours worked after the first two hours are $20 per hour. This is not constant and wouldn't graph a straight linear line.
ty hello, ur right, woooooooooooooooo
what is the answer
