The sum of the emfs and potential difference around a closed loop equals zero" is a consequence of:
a) Newton's third law
b) Ohm's law
c) Newton's second law
d) conservation of energy
e) conservation of charge
For this question: I had picked d conservation of energy but now I am thinking that that is conservation of charge (e) because emf reads the voltage and pontential difference deals with the energy to push a molecule. Could you please help clarify why d would be a better choice. I am still slighly confused.
Thank you
Potential is a measure of energy, with a charge moving, it is work. The emf difference around a loop it true even if NO charge is flowing, ie, it is true even in an open circuit.
