The sum and product of roots of a quadratic equation are 4/7 and 8/7 respectively . Find the equation

1 answer

x^2 - (4/7)x + 8/7 = 0
7x^2 - 4x + 8 = 0
check:
x = (4±√208 i)/14 = (2±√52 i)/7
clearly the sum is 4/7, and
(2+√52 i)/7 * (2-√52 i)/7 = (2^2 + 52)/49 = 56/49 = 8/7
