An example of the low income is because several lower socioeconomic backgrounds said they will boycott the dance. They said they will boycott the dance because they cannot afford the coat-and-tie attire. The lower income students also believe that who favor the coat and tie attire is only the “nerds” and “geeks.”

For example the school could have where if the students are on the honor roll or maybe not failing a class, get a limousine ride. The school could hold fundraisers in order to get the money to rent a limousine. If the school does not want to do fundraisers maybe they can find a limousine company and see if they will donate their time to drive the limousine. Not everyone can afford to rent a limousine. Sixth graders have no business renting tuxes and riding in limousines. That parental pressure forces them to grow up far far too fast.
I suggest that the administrators meet with the parents who are pushing this nonsense and ask them to back off. They could explain that it's against school policy and the dress code to wear such fancy clothes for dances for this age.
