The smaller of 2 numbers is 10 less than 4 times the greater number. The bigger number is 19 more than the smaller one.
If x is the smaller number one equation is:

I'm almost positive it is d I just want to check.
A second equation is:
a)x=4y-10
b)x=4y+10
c)x=10-4y
d)x=(10-4)y
Again I'm pretty sure the answer is c, but want to make sure.
If x is the smaller number and y is the bigger number, and y is 19 more than x, how can x be y + 19? Think again.
x is 10 less than 4y. They tell you that. So how can (c) be consistent with that? It can't. Try again.
