The sides of a rectangle are

1) 4X+3
2) 4X-Y
3) 3X-1
4)X+6Y
Find X and Y and the area of the rectangle

1 answer

parallel sides are congruent, so if the sides are named in order, then
4x+3 = 3x-1
4x-y = x+6y

since these give x = -1, I suspect I have not paired them up correctly, due to your insufficient description.

In any case, just follow the logic and then the area is length * width as usual.
