LITERAL:
"The invisible worm,
That flies in the night"
has found the rose and buries itself in it.
the "worm" loves it so much he kills it.
Obviously, worms are not invisible, nor do they fly. So what do you think this "worm" represents? What do you think the rose represents? What is significant about loving something so much, that it is destroyed?
Now you should be able to interpret it.
The Sick Rose
By William Blake
O Rose thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:
Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.
I know you guys want me to form an opinion about this but I don't really understand this poem, could someone please explain this poem and form an interpretation.
