The relative molecular mass of a molecule of chlorine is 72.

Which properties of the atoms in this molecule are the same?
1 radius
2 nucleon number
3 relative isotopic mass

Answer: 1 only

Can someone please explainnn!
Thanks :)

Cl2 has two atoms of Cl in the molecule. Each atom will have the same radius. If each atom had the same nucleon number it would be 35 and 35 or 37 and 37 but of course it could be 35 for one and 37 for the other and they would not be the same. The isotopic mass will differ for the same reason.
Radius depends on the number of electrons which are same for all isotopes so 1 is correct. While isotopic mass and nucleon number varies as it depends on the number of nutrons, which is different for different isotopes.
The radius is the same since the number of electrons in every atom is the same, but the nucleon number is not the same because they might be isotopes one with 35 and another with 37 which shows the difference in nucleon number .Same applies to the isotopic mass. Therefore 1 only is correct
