The relative density of an alloy is 6.5,calculate the mass of the solid alloy cube of sides 20cm.what volume of alloy has a mass of 3kg

3 answers

volume=20^3 cm^3

mass=6.5 g/cm^3 * 20^3 grams

volume=mass/density=3E3/(6.5 ) cm^3
So, the actual density is 6.5 times density of water:

D = 6.5 * 1g/cm^3 = 6.5g/cm^3.

a. M = D*V = 0.5g/cm^3 * (20cm)^3 = 4000g = 4kg.

b. M = D*V. V = M/D = 3000g/(6.5g/cm^3) = 462 cm^3.
Correction:
a. M = D*V = 6.5g/cm^3 * (20cm)^3
= 52,000g = 52kg.
