When i fall into arguments I tend to get loud and yell. But to become more chill and calm I always look at the best in the situation when u think about the best it seems to de escalate the situation. Another thing I do when trying to stay calm in an argument is try to understand the other person’s POV. When u look from the other person’s POV you can see ways to get them to become more calm. This will be very beneficial because you guys could become less hostile towards each other and less violent. For example one time me and one of my basketball teammates were in a disagreement on the court, me and him were going back and forth but he become more hostile even using hostile language to me, but I stayed calm and kept trying to help him and I be on good enough terms to talk it out.
