the Pythagorean theorem

a square + b square = c square
a square + x square = 4 square

how to find x square?

2 answers

online we use ^ for powers. So,

a^2 + x^2 = 4^2
x^2 = 16-a^2
Online "^" is used to indicate an exponent, e.g., x^2 = x squared.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Cannot find x unless already know value of a and c. You only know c.
