The New Dress

Emilia felt thrilled as she and her mother entered the dress boutique. She had been waiting for this day for a long time, and now that it was finally here, she could barely contain her excitement. As she saw the wide range of beautiful dresses displayed across the boutique, she remembered how she had worked hard for the past couple of months to save money so that she could buy the perfect prom dress.
Emilia looked around for a while until she finally found what she was looking for. It was a gorgeous deep blue, satin gown, which flared at the bottom to give the illusion of a mermaid. It was love at first sight for Emilia, but when she looked at the price tag, her heart shattered into a thousand pieces.
"How much is it?" Her mom asked, as she felt the smooth fabric of the gown.
Emilia simply showed the price tag to her mom and walked away with her head bent low.
Her mother looked at the price tag and sighed. She realized that Emilia had not saved as much money as she needed to buy the gown, but at the same time, she knew that Emilia's heart was set on this gown.
"Emilia, why don't you take the extra money from me?" Emilia's mother asked.
Emilia was completely taken aback by her mother's idea.
"Mom, it's a very expensive dress. I cannot possibly let you spend so much just for a prom dress that I'll wear probably only once or twice in a year," Emilia said. With a stern expression, she continued looking around for another dress.
Emilia's mother made a few more attempts to persuade her to accept the money, but Emilia stood firm on her decision. After looking around a while longer, Emilia found another beautiful dress that she liked and that she could buy using the money she saved. The dress wasn't as nice as the blue one, but Emilia felt glad that she could buy it without taking extra money from her mother.
While Emilia paid for her new dress, her mother looked at her with pride.
"I'm so happy to see that you can stay firm in your decisions and that you understand the importance of spending wisely," Emilia's mom said, giving her daughter a tight hug.
