Obituary for Mthokozisi “Teddy” Khumalo
Mthokozisi “Teddy” Khumalo was one of South Africa's most beloved soccer players. He became famous for his incredible skills on the field and his dedication to the game. Teddy was not only a fantastic player but also a generous supporter of our school, providing financial help that allowed many students to pursue their dreams. His kindness touched many lives, and his spirit will always be remembered.
Teddy was born on March 10, 1990, in Durban, South Africa. He was the son of Themba and Nontobeko Khumalo and had two siblings, Sipho and Lindiwe. Growing up in a loving family, Teddy always dreamed of playing soccer professionally. His parents encouraged him to work hard and follow his passion.
As a child, Teddy attended local schools in Durban, where he showed great talent in soccer from a young age. He often played with friends in the streets and quickly became known for his incredible speed and skill. Teddy’s love for soccer led him to join a youth academy, where he trained hard and honed his abilities. His dedication to his education was just as strong, and he always valued learning.
In his early adulthood, Teddy’s passion for soccer took him to play for one of South Africa's top clubs. His talent on the field earned him many fans. Teddy was married to his childhood sweetheart, Thandi, and together they had two beautiful children, Kuhle and Ayanda. He was a devoted husband and father, always making time for his family even with his busy schedule.
Sadly, Mthokozisi Khumalo passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2023, in Durban. His family, including his beloved wife and children, are heartbroken by this loss. Teddy’s legacy of kindness and passion for life will continue to inspire us. He will be buried on October 22, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Durban Memorial Park.
