The moon exerts a gravitational force that is about 1/6 that exerted by Earth. Eplain why the mass of an object measrued on the moon using a balance is the same as if the object were on Earth's Surface/

Because both the object being weighed and the balancing weights are reduced in gravity force by the same factor. They still balance each other if the mass x lever arm are the same.
