The lesson on influences on participating in fitness activities was not only beneficial for my students but also an enlightening experience for me as an educator. My previous experiences in athletics shaped my understanding and approach towards fitness. Sports were a significant part of my life growing up, and I’ve always seen physical activity as an essential component of well-being. This background allowed me to share personal anecdotes that helped students relate more closely to the material. However, I also realized that my experiences might not parallel those of every student, particularly those who may come from varying socioeconomic backgrounds or who have not been exposed to organized sports. Therefore, I made a conscious effort to create an inclusive environment that acknowledged diverse fitness experiences.

Considering the perspectives of both parents and students, I understood that families play a pivotal role in influencing children's involvement in fitness activities. During the lesson, I addressed how different family dynamics could affect children's motivation and participation. This opened the floor for students to voice their thoughts, leading to a rich discussion about how some students faced pressure to engage in certain activities while others felt supported and encouraged.

Reflecting on my personal values and biases, I realized that I hold a strong belief in promoting physical fitness as a universal benefit.
