The kushites invented which kind of writing

1 answer

The Kushites developed a script known as Meroitic writing, which was used in the Kingdom of Kush, centered in what is now Sudan. Meroitic writing comprises two alphasyllabaries: one for hieroglyphs used primarily for monumental inscriptions and another for cursive writing used on papyrus and other materials. The script was used to write the Meroitic language, which was distinct from Egyptian, though it was influenced by it. Meroitic writing was used from around the 3rd century BCE until the 4th century CE.
