the kitchen is 12 ft wide and 14 ft long how many six inch tile will I need to cover the floor

Along the 12 ft length, the 6 inch tiles will fit exactly and you will need 24 along that side.
Along the 14 ft side, you will need 28 tiles.

total = 24(28) or 672 tiles

or

area = 168 square feet,
but with 6 inch tiles, you will need 4 tiles per square inch
total = 4(168) = 672 tiles
