In 622 CE, facing persecution in Mecca, Muhammad and his followers migrated to Yathrib, later known as Medina. This event, known as the Hijra, marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar. In Medina, Muhammad established a Muslim community and gained significant followers.
In 630 CE, Muhammad and his followers returned to Mecca, where he peacefully reclaimed the city and established Islam as a prominent religion. He passed away in 632 CE, leaving behind a growing Muslim community that rapidly spread across the Arabian Peninsula and beyond, laying the foundation for a major world religion.
