velocity=distance/time
to find the time patrick reached
sorry john
its more physics than math, anyways, i guess but im not sure
since patrick left after 30 min,
u need to add 30 min on johns arrival time.
when Patrick left (at 8:00 am), John had traveled 30 km
... so the distance between them was 360 km

they are closing the distance at 120 kph

how long 'til they meet?

what time is it?
i used to take that material last year ,now i forgot it, sorry
time taken by John --- t hours
time taken by Pt = t - 1/2

distance covered by John = 60t km
distance covered by Pat = 60(t-1/2) = 60t - 30

60t + 60t - 30 = 390
120t =420
t = 3.5 hrs

finish it up
