the difference between hypnosis and sedation
1 answer
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility where the individual is more open to suggestions and can be used for therapeutic purposes. Sedation, on the other hand, is a state of relaxation or drowsiness induced by medication to reduce anxiety, pain, or discomfort during medical procedures. In hypnosis, the individual is actively participating and is in control of their actions, whereas in sedation, the individual is passive and may not remember the experience afterward. Additionally, hypnosis is a psychological technique while sedation is a medical intervention.
