The Census Bureau reported that the population of the United States in 1995 was 262.9 million. Referring to the statistics on the second page of the Background Information for Project 4, how many crimes committed in 1995 occurred in the South?

The statistics were: with a population of 91,958,000, more crimes - 38% of the total- were committed in the South.

I don't see what I'm doing wrong. I did .38(262.9) and it's not working out.

91 958 000 / 262 900 000 = 0.349783188 = 35%

The South's population is 35% of the total U.S. population. Yet 38% of the country's crime occurs there.
4,850,000
nvm that's wrong
