thank you to the perosn who answered about the accent marks, but i meant how do you chose how a word is accented, my vocabulary test have words that need to have the accent marks put on which syllable is pronounced stronger and i can never tell.

Question

Accent marks show the syllable that is stressed or emphasized.

Dictionaries show the accented syllable with an apostrophe (').

I suggest you look up troublesome words in a dictionary and see which syllable is accented.
