It’s a beautiful Saturday morning, and I’m torn between a fun day out with friends and helping my mom with yard work. To solve this problem, I could ask my friends if we can reschedule our plans for Sunday instead. I could also offer to help my mom in the morning, allowing me to join my friends in the afternoon. Balancing family responsibilities and personal plans can be tricky, but communication and flexibility can help everyone be happy!
Take a look at the picture and problem below. You can choose to either write a paragraph using description or problem/solution. You will turn this in to the Expository Writing Organizational Structures Dropbox.
Problem: You have plans for Saturday with your friends. This is a weekend you have looked forward to for weeks. Now your mom wants you to help her with some yard work. The only day she can work in the yard is on Saturday...the day of your plans...and she needs your help to finish all the yard work.
If you pick description, remember that you need to include a detailed description of the object in the picture. Use adjectives, similes, metaphors, or any other language to help describe the object. Write a paragraph (40 or 50 words) describing the object. Remember to use strong details in your description.
If you decide to write a solution, be sure your paragraph (40 to 50 words) details your solution(s) to the problem. Remember to use facts, examples, and details.
