Find the area of each wall. Then find the area of the ceiling and floor. Add together to get the total surface area.

I do not understand how to do this at all.

Two walls are 8'10" by 14'5".
A = L times W
A = (8 10/12) * (14 5/12)
A = 112 50/24 = 114 1/12 square feet
Two walls = (114 1/12) * 2 = 228 1/6 square feet
Try the same method for the other two walls and the floor and ceiling.
